About us
The Abuja Chapter of University of Port Harcourt (Uniport) Alumni Association is a subset of the larger national alumni body. We are proud graduates of the University of Port Harcourt, Choba, Rivers State who live and or work in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Nigeria. We are a vibrant and dynamic community united by a shared commitment to fostering lifelong connections, supporting one another, and contributing to the growth and development of our alma mater and the wider society.
Our Vision
The vision of this present set of executives is to establish the University of Port Harcourt Alumni Centre devoted to the incubation of business startups and promotion of professional excellence by December 2024, in Abuja.
Our Mission
To engage in programs that will promote business and career growth among our members while providing mentorship for undergraduates and youth corp members from the University of Port Harcourt.

Membership and Dues
Membership of the chapter is open to all graduates of The University of Port Harcourt resident in Abuja and registration is through the completion of an online membership form. Members are also expected to join at least one professional cluster within the chapter to deepen engagement, grow professionally and expand their networks. The Chapter holds meetings every second Sunday of the month by 4.00pm at 11 Royal Homes Estate, Galadimawa. Our dues are N1,000 monthly which can be paid in bulk annually or in monthly installments.

Our Events and Programmes
Our Calendar of events include monthly meetings, quarterly Walk for Health, periodic business clinics, annual Gown-to-Town Symposium and the Project to Start up Program. These programs provide members opportunities to exchange ideas, forge beneficial relationship, do business, and overall, promote widespread collaboration. All our events are free to attend for members however, we are happy to accept freewill donations of money and other resources necessary for the success of our programmes.

Our Leadership
The Vice Chancellor
The Vice Chancellor Owunari Abraham Georgewill is a Professor of Pharmacology and the 9th substantive Vice Chancellor of University of Port Harcourt.
Owunari Georgewill started as a lecturer 2 in the pharmacology department of the University of Port Harcourt and later became Dean of Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences in 2010. He rose through the ranks and was promoted Professor of Pharmacology on May 4, 2010, at the age of 44. In 2012, he was elected deputy provost of the University of Port Harcourt Medical School and in 2013, he was voted into the Governing Council of the university as a representative. On 2 July 2021, he was announced the 9th substantive Vice Chancellor by the school governing council after screening him and eleven other applicants.
He is married to Udeme Owunari Georgewill who is an associate professor and they have four children and a grandchild.
Phil Biobele Okoroafor
Phil Biobele Okoroafor - U89/17174

Phil is a seasoned veteran with over 25 years of hands-on industry experience in corporate event planning and integrated marketing communications, having planned and managed a plethora of events since 1996. Her work has spanned countries such as the USA, Dubai, Cameroun, Lebanon and Nigeria; and include the 2003 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) and the Public Presentation of “My Transition Hours”, a book by former Nigerian President, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as well as several conferences, annual general meetings and summits.
She is a certified training consultant, an integrative life coach and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Abuja Chapter. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial Chemistry from the University of Port Harcourt.
Mr Oluyori Aguda

Elder Oluyori Aguda attended the University of Port Harcourt from 1977-1981 as a pioneer student.
Joined the Federal Civil Service in 1982 and retired in 2013 after having served the nation meritoriously. During his time as a civil servant, he attended several training courses abroad (UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER, UK (1990), University of Birmingham (1995) and in Nigeria (Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) (1991) as well as the Centre for management development (CMD).
Elder was the Chapter President of University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association Abuja Chapter from 2008 to 2016.
Edward Oseni
Edward Oseni - U89/18167
MD, MULTICLEAN LIMITED
Edward Oseni is a graduate of Political Science and Administration from University of Port Harcourt. He is an entrepreneur and has been rendering private waste disposal and cleaning services for over 23 years, having started his craftsmanship right after leaving the university.
He is one of the first founding presidents of the Abuja Chapter of Uniport Alumni Association way back in the year 2000. He, with the help of other early members helped to set up the foundation of the chapter and is still active in pushing the association to greater heights and fostering positive values to the association.
Edward is married with kids.
Okeze Austine C
Okeze Austine C - U92/31186
Public Servant (Asst Director, NCAA)
Austin Okeze bagged a bachelor of science degree in Geography from the University of Port Harcourt in 1997. While schooling at Uniport, he was elected as the Director of Socials (DOS) of Nelson Mandela Hall in a keenly contested election and was also elected the Chairman of Nelson Mandela hall, a position he held until his graduation from Uniport.
After graduation, he served as the Secretary of Abuja Chapter of the Uniport Alumni Association, thereafter, served as the Financial Secretary.
From 2017, he was elected the Chapter President until 2022 when he was elected as the 1st Vice President of the National body, a position he is currently holding
